The San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution on Tuesday declaring the National Rifle Association a “domestic terrorist organization.” The NRA has over 5 million members have now been officially labeled a domestic terrorist in the city of San Francisco.
The resolution read, “The National Rifle Association spreads propaganda that misinforms and aims to deceive the public about the dangers of gun violence.”
Supervisor Catherine Stefani who supported the resolution told USA today, “The designation of domestic terrorist organization is justified because the NRA’s opposition to gun control is “standing in the way of saving lives,” Stefani said.
USA Today reported, “She said the resolution calls the “absolutely disgraceful” organization “out for what they really are.””
Spokesperson of Stefani’s office Daniel Herzstein claimed the resolution unanimously passed.
The NRA condemned the resolution with a statement released to USA Today on Wednesday. “This is just another worthless and disgusting ‘soundbite remedy’ to the violence epidemic gripping our nation.”
The Statement continued, “This is a reckless assault on a law-abiding organization, its members, and the freedoms they all stand for. We remain undeterred – guided by our values and belief in those who want to find real solutions to gun violence.”
The resolution passed by San Francisco is extremely dangerous to a civil society by labeling people you disagree with as terrorists. Conservatives need to fight fire with fire and label any organization of business that leans even slightly to the left as a extreme Domestic terrorist that should be abolished on the spot.
