President Trump announced he will be signing the border wall bill and declaring a national emergency in order to finish building the wall. This was met with Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi claiming Democrats will use a national emergency to confiscate guns.

Pelosi stated, “I know the Republicans have some unease about it, no matter what they say. Because if the president can declare an emergency on something that he has created as an emergency, an illusion that he wants to convey, just think of what a president with different values can present to the American people.”

Pelosi continued, “You want to talk about a national emergency? Let’s talk about today, the one-year anniversary of another manifestation of the epidemic of gun violence in America. That’s a national emergency.”

Pelosi finished, “Democratic presidents can declare emergencies as well. So the precedent that the president is setting here is something that should be met with great unease and dismay by the Republicans.”

Nancy Pelosi was attempting to make a point, but it was a false point. If Democrats attempt to declare a national emergency on guns the courts would shut it down due to it being an illegal over reach of Government. Also, if Democrats successfully attempt to confiscate guns through national emergency it will start a civil war. No American patriot will willingly hand over their guns to the government, and the only possible way for Government to attain the guns would be through cold dead hands.
