Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader-Ginsburg who is 85 years of age under went serious medical issues as of recent. Recently Ginsburg fell and broke her ribs, which led doctors to discover two cancerous lumps inside her lungs. The Doctors were able to successfully remove the cancerous lumps, but it has caused Ginsburg to miss her first Oral Arguments in her long career.
There has been much speculation into what will become of Ginsburg with her health issues. Democrats are hoping for her to stay in her seat until Democrats are capable of safely replacing the left-wing activist Judge, while Republicans are hoping for Ginsburg to have good health but step down from her position. If she was to retire that would give President Trump his third Supreme Court pick in only his third year.
According to “The Daily Caller” sources tell them Republicans are quietly preparing to replace Ginsburg in the event she retires.
““Gingerly preparations are underway, not just for Ginsburg but for any SCOTUS retirement,” a source directly involved in the Supreme Court nominations of Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh told TheDC.”
The Daily Caller continued, “Another source emphasized to TheDC that the quiet preparations are all that is realistically needed in case of a vacancy on the court because much of the required infrastructure already exists within the White House.”
The most likely nominee to replace Ruth Bader-Ginsburg would be Amy Coney Barett who nearly got the nomination over Brett Kavanaugh. Amy Coney Barett is the person who I wanted to be the last nomination due to her strong anti-abortion stance and her strong Conservative views. Not to mention she is only 46 years of age, which would make her by far the youngest person in the Supreme Court.
