The new Speaker of the House Democrat Nancy Pelosi appeared on NBC “The Today Show,” in an interview with host Savannah Guthrie. They discussed topics from border wall, Government Shut down, and Trump impeachment. During the interview Pelosi was caught in a contradiction for claiming Trump will golf during Government shutdown, yet she went on a vacation to Hawaii.

Today Show host, Savannah Guthrie asked Pelosi, “The president took a swipe, I think, as recently as today saying that you went on vacation to Hawaii during the shutdown. Now, you had said before the shutdown that he was being quite cavalier and maybe the shutdown will give him more time to golf, but in the end, it was you that took a holiday.”

Pelosi responded, “I observed the Christmas holiday for a few days in Hawaii. I cut in half the time I would have had with my family.”

Guthrie asked, “Is that a cheap shot?”

Pelosi responded, “It’s not important. It’s totally unimportant, but the fact is we all stood ready and told our members we’ll have 24 hours notice for all of us to be where we need to be. And the president may not know this, but Hawaii is part of the United States of America. Maybe he doesn’t realize that. I don’t know where the president observed the religious holiday of Christmas.”

  1. Odd that the “journalists” at the Today show never asked why San Fran Nan stuck the Air Force with the cost of getting her and her multi-millionaire family to and from Hawaii. If this were a Republican, they would probably have interviews with several furloughed government employees and ask them if they thought it were appropriate to give free air fare to millionaire politicians and their families during a shutdown.
