On Monday, the Wall Street Journal reported that President Trump will order a military expansion on the troops at the border to stop the migrant caravan from entering illegally. President Trump was reported to be sending 800 troops to the border, but now is increasing it to 5,000 troops.
The Wall street Journal continued, claiming the military will be sending the 5,000 troops to the southern border to help out the border patrol. The plans will send 1,800 troops to deploy to Texas, 1,700 to Arizona, and 1,500 to California.
CBP Commissioner Kevin McAleenan said his agency is updating “longstanding plans to deal with a mass migration situation.” McAllenan said those plans include temporary holding and processing facilities.
President Trump announced on Twitter on Monday he will not be allowing the caravan members into the United States.
