The vote is highly contested and very close, which could go either way on yes or no. However I am going to break down how I believe each Senator will vote today. Read until the end to find the surprise ending I am projecting to happen.

The final vote will come to a 50-50 tie on Brett Kavnaugh, I am projecting that the Republicans stay the exact same as they voted with Lisa Murkowski still voting “NO” on Brett Kavanaugh.

For the Democrats West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin voted “Yes” on Brett Kavanaugh, but Democrats are going to be in his ear to flip his vote back to a “NO.” I believe Manchin will cave to the pressure and switch his vote to a “NO” in hopes one of three scenarios from Republicans plays out.

  1. Senator Collins of Maine changes her mind and switches her vote, which is unlikely since she announced she intends to vote yes.

2. Senator Flake switches his vote to a no, also unlikely but Flake has a weak backbone and does have a history of backing down to the pressure.

3. Senator Steve Daines for some reason can’t make it to the vote because he will be attending his daughter’s weeding and plans to fly back in time for the vote.

I do not believe any of the three scenarios will happen and this means it will end in a tie of a 50-50 vote on the Senate floor. This will result in the Kavanaugh vote coming down to the tie breaker. The tie breaker in the case of a senate floor tie on a Supreme Court conformation is the Vice President will cast a vote.

Vice President Mike Pence will stay strong and cast his vote “YES” on Brett Kavanaugh.

My projection will mean Saturday night Brett Kavanaugh will be officially confirmed onto the Supreme Court and the Drama for now will come to an end.
