President Trump is expected to release the declassified Trump-Russian documents sometime this coming week with expectations of exposing the illegal actions taken by the DOJ. This has led House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes to claim, the media and Democrats will likely be “frightened” by the information that will be declassified.
On Thursday Devin Nunes was speaking at Speaking at an event hosted by the Center for Security Policy on Thursday, where he claimed President Trump was close to declassifying documents on the FISA warrants.
After the release of the 21 page declassified FISA warrant on July 21st media and Democrats were ignoring the information. Nunes responded the media claimed “the really bad stuff about the Trump campaign was buried in the redactions,” which led Nunes and Republicans to want the remainder declassified.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, Nunes said in the Thursday meeting “And I said, you know what, you might be right. We should declassify the whole thing.”
Nunes claimed the Media backed off once they threatened to release all information and he explained why they backed off. “And you know why? Because I think they’re going to be frightened by what you see,” Nunes said.
The Daily Caller reported this is similar to remarks Nunes said on Fox News on July 29th.
“We are quite confident that once the American people see these 20 pages, at least for those that will get real reporting on this issue, they will be shocked by what’s in that FISA application,” Nunes told Fox’s Maria Bartiromo.
