New York state Sen. Jesse Hamilton (D-NY) proposed a Bill that would make it a hate crime to call the police on a minority if they aren’t found breaking a crime.
This comes after someone called the police on a black person for handing out anti-Trump material in Hamilton’s district.
“That’s gonna be a hate crime,” Hamilton said. “This pattern of calling the police on black people going about their business and participating in the life of our country has to stop.”
However, the woman who called the police was a Hispanic immigrant who supported Trump and felt the individual was being divisive.
The Bill will charge people for calling the police on a minority even if they felt threatened by the individual. As long as the minority was not deemed a threat by the police.
If this Bill passes it will create chaos in multiple ways.
- People will stop calling the police on minorities even when in threat of danger because they don’t want to risk being charged with a Hate Crime, which means increase in violence.
- People will be charged with a Hate Crime for calling the Police on minorities because they felt they were in danger.
- The Bill was inspired from a minority calling the Police on another minority, which means minorities will be harmed the most from this Bill.
