The Freedom Forum Institute conducted its annual survey “State of the First Amendment” (SOFA), the results will scare any freedom loving American.

The survey of 1,009 American adults was conducted in May and June of 2018 by the Fors Marsh Group in partnership with Lata Nott and Gene Policinski of FFI. The survey has a margin of error of 3.7%.

Of the 1,009 Americans asked to name all five rights guaranteed by the First Amendment only 1 person was able to name all five. And only 2% of Americans asked were able to name the right to petition the government for redress of grievances; 12% were able to name the right of peaceful assembly; 13% were able to name freedom of the press; 15% were able to name freedom of religion; and 56% were able to name freedom of speech.

The pathetic results of this survey were 40% could not name a single right the First Amendment protects. These results are proof our public school system is a joke and not teaching our Constitutional rights. Parents need to take the time and educate their children on their Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence so the government can’t take it from them.
