Over the weekend Maxine Waters made headlines with her divisive rhetoric. This is becoming a trend since Trump has won office. Maxine is trying to capitalize on the sentiments of the radical left. At the rally she was quoted saying,
“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,”
This Comment was after the Sarah Sanders Red Hen controversy. Maxine is claiming if you politically disagree with her and the extreme Leftist line you should be harassed in normal life. Is this a sentiment that is sitting well with both parties, and the public? We know Trump let Maxine know how he felt with his Twitter response,
“Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party. She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!”
As we know every time Democrats outcry for extreme protests it drives the Trump Republican base closer together. Republican Congressman from Arizona Andy Biggs is developing measures demanding Maxine Waters resign from her position, and apologize to the White House for “endangering their lives and sowing seeds of discord.” It is felt her remarks has caused all Trump staff members danger from Maxine Waters remarks.
Nancy Pelosi Chimed in putting the blame on Trump. Pelosi Tweeted, Trumps “daily lack of civility has provoked responses that are predictable but unacceptable.” (Typical Democrat tactic, when all else fails blame the victim).
However, Democrats have fired back against Maxine Waters, because they are fearful this will harm them in the midterms. Which they are right, because when you demand harassment against all Republican supporters they will be motivated to vote. Nancy Pelosi eventually called for unity not harassment, this way she could distance herself from Maxine. Also, Chuck Schumer said,
“I strongly disagree with those who advocate harassing folks if they don’t agree with you.”
“If you disagree with a politician, organize your fellow citizens to action and vote them out of office,” he added. “But no one should call for the harassment of political opponents. That’s not right. That’s not American.”
All of this is evidence that Trump is right with his claim Maxine has a low IQ. Demanding for harassment against Republicans is what lost Democrats the election in 2016 and will continue to do so in 2018. I guess you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!
