On June 22, 2018 at 8pm in Lexington, Va. Stephanie Wilkinson the owner of a restaurant called the Red Hen, asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders (White House Press Secretary of Trump) to leave her establishment. Wilkinson asked her to leave due to a few gay employees on her staff that felt uncomfortable with serving her. Sanders politely said, “she would leave” and offered to pay for the meal that was being prepared. Wilkinson declined to accept the money.
Stephanie Wilkinson claimed to have said, “I explained that the restaurant has certain standards that I feel it has to uphold, such as honesty, and compassion, and cooperation,” Wilkinson expanded. “I said, ‘I’d like to ask you to leave.’” (This sounds rather dishonest, uncompassionate, and very uncooperative) In other words she doesn’t want anyone who disagrees with her politically in her establishment.
Wilkinson stated to The Washington Post “I’m not a huge fan of confrontation, I have a business, and I want the business to thrive. This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals.” (I guess someone needs to inform her we are not a democracy but a republic)
This is the typical rhetoric we here from the Left, they have morals they must uphold (Like they have any). However, Sanders responded with her typical elegance with a tweet!
“Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so”
I know this may shock most of you, but I support Wilkinson to deny service of Sanders. I support the right of a Christian baker to not bake the cake for a gay wedding, and I support someone refusing to serve if they politically disagree with someone.
This said, I also claimed if you don’t like the Christian baker won’t make a cake for a gay wedding don’t buy from him. So, if anyone who is in Lexington Va. and you are a Conservative do not eat at the Red Hen. She has made it clear that she only wants Leftist to eat there. I am a firm believer in Capitalism and if you make social stances with a business you own be prepared for the consequences that come with it.
